How to prime your mind for positive mental thoughts?

Imagine what a beautiful world we would have, if everybody were always happy, thankful, and had positive thoughts all the time. Imagine how wonderful our society would be if everybody attempted to do what they could to make other people life better. Imagine how happy would you be if you were surrounded by happy people. Imagine how great would you feel when people around you showed a willingness to help you and share their valuable knowledge without expecting anything from you in return.

It is fair to say that all of these great things sound like a dream and seem to be impossible to achieve. It is also equally unfair to say that people can’t make this dream come through if this dream sounds and seems difficult or even impossible to achieve.

Remember, any dream you have is just a dream if you don’t have a goal and any goal you have is just a goal if you don’t have a plan and any plan you have is just a plan if you don’t have the desire, hunger, and the determination to implement it. My favorite actor, Denzel Washington, said, “Dreams without goals are just dreams.”

You might be curious and ask, “What can I do as a person to make this dream a reality and make the world better place?”

Well, you start by working on yourself. First, you need to learn to be happy and have positive mental thoughts. It sounds a difficult task but it is actually easy to do.

Understanding the concept of gratitude is one of the most powerful methods to acquire, retain, and increase happiness. It is fair to say that we all faced bad circumstances in our life beyond our control and we all had down period in our life and we all felt down once in a while no matter how much we tried to be a better version of ourselves and we all sometimes failed miserably and even suffered. It is also fair to say that we sometimes had wonderful and great moments in life and we accomplished amazing things in life but the problem was that we never wrote down in a piece of paper whatever great and awesome things happened in our life and as time passed, our memory faded and we never felt grateful for those awesome things because we forgot and the information was not recorded for later retrieval.

Make it a practice whatever great things happen in your life, write it down in a piece of paper or in your tablet/smartphone so you can read it later whenever you are having down period in your life. You will be surprised how hard it will be to feel bad after you read all these great things that happened in your life.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude, ” Ralph Waldo Emerson said.

I found that keeping a daily journal could be a very positive rewarding addition to your day. A daily journal where you can ask yourself early in the morning “what can I do to grow myself as a person today and what can I do to make somebody else day better?” And then at the end of the day, you answer these questions “what did I do today to make myself better person and what did I do today to make somebody else day better?” and you write a simple statement about all the great things that happened to you during the day regardless of how bad your day was.

It is a very simple task to do and it does not even take 10 minutes to do. It will definitely have a positive impact in your life and will push you out of your crazy comfort zone and push you to your better future and better life and makes you feel you are accomplishing and growing as a person every day and making somebody else life better.

If the above strategy becomes a normal practice for most people in this world, will it have a positive impact on our society? I will leave it to you to answer this question.
